Bumper Damage on Corvette

This beautiful 2004 Chevy Corvette had some ugly damage on the driver's side quarter panel and rear bumper. We fixed the dents & scrapes and repainted with the paint matching the original factory color.

24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans)

The greatest auto race in the world starts tomorrow, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's our favorite because since 1923, people have been racing whatever they could bring for a whole day without stopping. There have been cars taken straight off showroom floors: Porsches, Corvettes, Aston Martins, Jaguars, Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Lotuses, Cobras. And then there are the prototypes--the no holds barred version of racing that exists nowhere else. These are the fastest vehicles on the planet with bleeding edge technology that defines where automobiles will be decades in the future. Or not. Some of the ideas are downright weird and fail miserably. Racing doesn't get any better.

24 Hours of Le Mans!

It's that time of year again, the oldest and greatest auto race in the world celebrates its 90th anniversary this weekend in Le Mans, France (June 23-24, 2013.) The race is fast and torturous. It is where the world's premier auto makers--Aston Martin, Audi, Chevrolet (Corvette), Chrysler (SRT Viper), Ferrari, Honda, Lotus, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota--come to show not only that they have the fastest, best handling, most advanced cars but in order to win, they must also be reliable and economical.

The race attracts top drivers including celebrity Patrick Dempsey who in past years has been a LeMans class leader. Audi once again captured the pole in 2013. Toyota was third fastest in qualifying with a hybrid prototype.

Unlike most races, these vehicles must run all-out for 24 hours straight without breaking down and with as few stops as possible. At 2013 speeds we can expect the leaders to travel more than 3000 miles (5000 km)

NASCAR, Formula 1 and Indycar feature straights that can be a thousand feet long. LeMans features a straightaway that is 4 miles (6 km) long followed by a series of curves, hairpin turns and shorter straights.

It is our favorite race at Almost Everything because the cars look like real cars and the technology is often a few years away from making the cars we drive everyday safer, more fun and better performing.

2014 Corvette Stingray Wreck!

How is this even possible? Almost Everything's Wreck of the Day is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. It isn't even on the market yet! We get this scoop from our friends at WreckedExotics.com. In their article, they quote General Motors as saying, "During evaluation, the inside tire caught the edge of the pavement during a tight corner, leading to the accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt, the car received only minor damage, and no citations were issued." Hard to believe this is minor damage. . . but nothing we couldn't fix!

Flat Black Friday

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is this 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. This particular car was the victim of vandalisim, the entire car was "keyed" leaving deep gouges in nearly every panel on the outside of the car! We repaired this problem by first sanding and "feathering" the deep gouges, a process that blends rough edges so they become smooth making them invisible beneath the new paint. Next we applied a sealer primer to the freshly sanded surface to seal it and provide a good foundation for the new paint to stick to. Finally we finished the car with a "Two Tone" paint job---Flat Black on the sides and a Gloss Black on the top! Sebring 12 Hours Looks Like a NASCAR Race

Almost Everything Autobody watched the 59th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring on ESPN.  We thought we were watching a NASCAR event instead of American Le Mans. Endurance racing used to be tough enough without worring about other racers hitting you on purpose. No longer. Drivers bumped & grinded all 12 hours. Cars were destroyed, carried back to the pits, rebuilt and went back out on the track. Favorites from Audi & Ferrari were totaled allowing Peugeot to win overall for the 2nd year in a row and BMW to win the GT2 class.

1989 Chevrolet Corvette with Auto Paint Service

Today's Car of the Day is a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette that came in with cracking paint, peeling paint and chips and scratches. Almost Everything Autobody recondition the peeling and cracking paint, feather out all the chips and scratches and primer sealed the entire car. Car of the Day - 2006 Chevrolet Corvette with Auto Bodywork

Today's Car of the Day is a nice 2006 Chevrolet Corvette that came in with a crack on the right door. Almost Everything Autobody repaired the crack on the fiberglass door, refinish (painted) the right door and blended the right quarter panel for perfect color match. Almost Everything Autobody color sand and polish the areas painted to ensure a seamless match to factory finish.
