4th of July Celebration - Almost Everything Style

Red, White and Blue! (Right to Left: Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo, Pontiac Fiero GT, Mazda MX5 Miata)

Let's get the party started with a trio of red, white and blue cars (and for those with good eyes there are two all-American Teslas in the background!) Pick your favorite: the Mazda Miata in blue, Pontiac Fiero GT in white or the Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (twin to a Mitsubishi 3000GT) is in red. We painted these cars awhile ago and have been saving the photo for 4th of July.

Pontiac Bonneville with Faded & Peeling Paint

Paint peeling on bumper and faded paint on hood before body repairs & paint at Almost Everything Auto Body

Our Car of the Day is a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville that has paint peeling off the bumper and a badly faded hood. The problems with both parts are from a poor repair by another shop. It was obvious to us that the bumper had been replaced but it had not been cleaned and primed properly before being painted. So the new paint was falling off and exposing the plastic underneath. The hood was painted with an inferior paint that faded much faster than the rest of the car. We stripped the paint off the bumper, sanded the hood and repainted both with top quality Factory Paint.

2005 Pontiac GTO (a Holden Monaro in Disguise)

Pontiac GTO repainted "Cyclone Grey" at Almost Everything Auto Body

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2005 Pontiac GTO (enthusiasts will also recognize it as a Holden Monaro designed & built by GM of Australia.) It is a rare beast in the USA (emphasis on beast.) We love the understated design and the gigantic engine lurking beneath. This one arrived at the body shop with some dents and painted black. It left with a clean skin painted "Cyclone Grey."

2000 Pontiac Firebird Color Change!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2000 Pontiac Firebird. This car came to us badly in need of paint! It had been sanded and unfinished by one of its owners and was becoming very hard to look at. The car's owner didn't want to spend $5000+ on a paint job and decided they wanted to go with one of our very economical Single Stage Paints! We cleaned up the car, then masked all of the windows, lights, and trim. Once we finished our prep the Firebird was painted a vivid Electric Pearl Blue that its owners picked out from our color book!

1970 Pontiac GTO Complete Restoration!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1970 Pontiac GTO.  This Classic Muscle Car came to our shop *LOOKING* decent.  Under the seemingly okay finish unbeknownst to anybody, lay some serious, serious, bodywork to be done before painting.  The car had been "Repaired" before, years ago by a "Professional Hack Artist", nearly 100% of its body panels had been skimmed with an absurd amount of body filler, hiding the improper "Repairs" beneath it.  Once we had the car stripped, we discovered that the Quarter Panels, Doors, and many other miscellanious panels were in dire need of replacement.  Some panels were replaced using reproduction parts such as both Quarter Panels, the Decklid Filler, and a handful of other parts. Some panels were not so lucky, who would have thought a 44 year old collectors car would be so hard to find parts for?  The areas thatwere impossible to replace due to lack of parts were repaired, grafting recycled sheet metal in place of old rusted metal, and finishing with a much lighter skim of plastic filler.  Once the body was all taken care of, we applied a Primer, then block sanded the whole car, exposing every single imperfection. Once everything was straight and smooth we Painted the GTO with our "Performance Base, Clear" paint in its original color!

You thought you were done reading didn't you? Well luckily for you the process didnt stop after painting, once the paint was dry we "Wet Sanded and Polished" the entire car to remove any dust specs, or contaminants found in freshly sprayed paint.  Also this process removes the natural texture called "Orange Peel" leaving the cars finish as smooth as glass, like a true show car's paint job should!
