I always wanted one of these cars--the legendary, iconic Nissan 300ZX Turbo. A month after we completed a restoration and overall paint job on this car, the rear bumper got damaged in an accident. The bumper was replaced and we matched the paint to the rest of the car.

Lambo in the House!
2005 Lamborghini Gallardo was either keyed or maybe scratched by a dog that was as excited as we were to see this gorgeous exotic. We smoothed out the scratch marks and repainted the door.

Acura NSX--The New Benchmark
We got to drive the new Acura NSX this weekend. The 1990 NSX redefined what a supercar could be. The 2017 NSX does it again--the new benchmark. It accelerates like a racing bike, sips fuel like an Accord, eats any piece of pavement with great style, comfort and ease.
We got an extended test drive in the mountain roads near Laguna Seca Raceway during the Pirelli World Challenge as the Acura NSX continued its awesome rookie year in GT3 against Aston Martin, Audi R8s, BMW, Cadillac , Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes Benz, Nissan GT-R and Porsche.
Art St. Cyr, President of Honda Performance Development, and John Watts, Sr. Manager for NSX Performance Team, chatted with us over lunch about the car and successes they've had so far (most laps led of any manufacturer, 5th place finish in its very first race and ranked well in virtually every race.)
Is there a flaw with the NSX? Maybe it is too good. . . it makes even me look like a brilliant and ridiculously fast driver. I want this car!

Herd of Miuras
Herd of Lamborghini Miuras by Steven Haas Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance 2016 |
Steven Haas sent us this amazing photo from this year's Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Florida. He says, "It's like a bag of M&Ms spilled into the grass." I doubt the Lamborghini factory could have had this many completed Miuras at one time when production was in full swing (early 1970s.) At roughly $2,000,000 each, this photo contains $12+ Million worth of Lamborghini Miuras plus a little more for rounding error in the form of a blue Aventador in the background.
I had the pleasure of attending the Pebble Beach Concours with Steve a few years ago. This gentleman knows cars and seemingly every living soul in the auto business: executives from major auto manufacturers, the writers and editors of all the car magazines, the people who restore & insure classic cars. He is currently Director, Financial Services at Hagerty Classic Cars so look him up to protect your valuable classic.

More Ferrari Hill Climbing Mischief
Almost Everything's Wreck of the Day is a Ferrari F430 Spider. As you can see, the hill climb attempt was a bit too ambitious. One more example of why we strongly recommend Ferraris be used only on paved roads and not for rock climbing. We recommend Land Rover, Jeep and Steyr-Daimler-Puch for mud and boulders. (We should also mention that everyone involved in this accident lived to tell about it.)
Please send your abused Ferraris along with generous donations to:

Thanks as always to WreckedExotics.com for the photos and alerting us to the destruction of another exotic car.

24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans)
The greatest auto race in the world starts tomorrow, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's our favorite because since 1923, people have been racing whatever they could bring for a whole day without stopping. There have been cars taken straight off showroom floors: Porsches, Corvettes, Aston Martins, Jaguars, Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Lotuses, Cobras. And then there are the prototypes--the no holds barred version of racing that exists nowhere else. These are the fastest vehicles on the planet with bleeding edge technology that defines where automobiles will be decades in the future. Or not. Some of the ideas are downright weird and fail miserably. Racing doesn't get any better.
