  2. I had hit a curb and from then my car steering started slightly vibrating/shaking at speeds greater than 55-50 mph. I took it to firestone and all they did was readjust the weights and told me this is what all they can do and if the problem still persist, take it to a body shop. Can you let me know what could be the problem and how much its gonna cost for the complete fix?

  3. Hi

I have a 2014 Camaro and some I got this scratch on the car. Its not so deep but kind of bothering me. Do you know how much its going to cost to fix that little spot. Some rough estimate?

    1. Camaroguy, we can polish some scratches out by hand in just a few minutes--if that's all it takes we try to do it for free. If they are deeper and won't come out with polish, then you would have to paint. We have a number of options for paint. Cost varies with options, size of panel, location & size of damage, etc. So stop by so we can see what is going on & discuss with you. We'll fix it if we can and if not, we'll give you a free estimate.

  4. Besides a paint job, my car also needs to have its transmission rebuilt (1968 Ford C4).
    Do you rebuild transmissions? Price?

    Thanks,
    Ruben

    1. Sorry, we don't do transmissions. You might try Grant & Dan's a few doors down from us.

  8. I have a 1970 Cutlass that is maroon with a white top. I'm trying to sell it and I don't want to put a lot of money into the paint, I just want a decent yet cheap paint job that will make the car presentable... Do you charge extra to change the color of the car? I feel that the current color does not appeal to buyers. I'm thinking about going white, red, or lite blue...

    1. DeVaughn, I'm seeing your comment after you came to the shop for an estimate but I'll reply just so others get the benefit of your question. Yes, we do charge a little extra to change the color of a car--there is more work involved with a color change.

  9. how long does it take to paint a bumper? will you be able to complete it in a day?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous, we recommend allowing 2-3 days for a bumper. Some of this time is to allow the paint to cure enough so that it will not get easily damaged on the car and some of it is just queue time.

  10. For your stage 1 specisl can i paint any color i want or is it just a selected number of color i can choose from?

    1. Anonymous, we have millions of colors. We normally match the existing color on your car as closely as possible based on the color code that we locate on your vehicle. If you wish to change colors, you can also do that. We charge a little more for color changes.

    2. How much more would you say 100 more 200 more 300 more ?i have a 2 door coupe (350z).thx

    3. Anonymous, for current prices please call or come by the shop: 510-494-8200 or http://www.autobodyfremont.com/p/map-directions.html.

The cost for color changes depends on how far inside the car you want the new color to go.

We don't post prices in comments because they will still be here years from now when they are no longer valid.

  14. If dents outside made no inside damage, so it's only skin dents, do you first try to fix them by dent pullers or other means before replacing the entire parts, or do you go straight to replacing parts?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. We do both--fix dents and replace parts, depending on costs, complexity of the repair and customer preferences. Our general rule is to fix a dent if it is less expensive than to replace the part and vice-versa.
