Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1986 Volkswagen Westfalia. This mini RV came to our shop with mismatched, faded, old unsightly paint all over! In addition to the failing paint, lots of rust decided to join the party. This van is the owners baby. He had restored it mechanically. He came to us to put a long lasting, quality paint on it. After all of the body repairs and prep work was completed, we repainted it with our "factory-type" of base coat/clear coat paint!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is our very own 1937 Jaguar SS 100. It was an unfortunate day when we discovered our shop's pride and joy had been the victim of a brutal hit and run. It appears that it may have been side swiped by a shoe, causing some gruesome damage. The windsheild was broken, the front license plate brackets had been sheared clean off, and its rear left wheel was lost at the time of the accident. Luckily we recovered all of the parts missing off of the car and restored it back to its original condition! The car is on display in our office, come by and check it out today!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. This classic peoples car came to Almost-Everything with decent looking paint, however the surfaces beneath the paint were starting to fail or rust causing cracks, bubbles, and other unsightly blemishes. We started the repairs by first going over and repairing all of the owner-specified areas such as; treating rust, repairing dings and a couple dents. Once the body repairs were completed the car moved into masking where all of its windows, lights, trim pieces were masked off. Finally the car was moved into our booth where the entire exterior was refinished with its original color "Savanna Beige" in our Enamel paint grade!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1967 Pontiac Firebird. This classic muscle car came to Almost-Everything looking pretty beat. There were rust holes in some body panels, old bodywork that was not too interested in looking great anymore and its paint had faded from years of being outside in the sun. We began our restoration by replacing the unusable rear right body panel with a new reproduction panel made specifically for rusted/damaged areas which was provided to us by the car's owner. Once that was completed we began smoothing and "re-skimming" over the old body work so it would not show through the cars new upcoming paint job. Once the specified areas were smooth, we applied a primer sealer and finally repainted the entire exterior of the vehicle with our Urethane + Integrated Clear Coat paint!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. This Peoples Car came to our shop with many different colors on it---Flat Black, Glossy-ish black, and a bit of Grey primer, there was also some bodywork that needed our attention. We started by smoothing out all of the dings, dents, and gouges that the car's owner specified to be fixed. Next we applied a Primer-Sealer to give the new paint something to "bite" onto. Lastly we refinished the entire exterior of the car with our Urethane + Integrated Clear coat paint! The color that was applied to the Bug came right out of our color swatch book and is called "Black Pearl".
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is this 1995 Chevrolet Pickup. This pickup holds a lot of sentimental value for the owner, not wanting to purchase a brand new pickup he restored the one he already owns with our Base Coat-Clear Coat paint package! He decided that the old blue paint was a little bit too "standard" looking, and instead of refinishing the truck with the original blue the owner had us apply a newer General Motors color. There is no mistaking this truck with its fresh coat of bright metallic blue paint!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 2005 Acura RSX. This fairly new car has spent much of its time outdoors, resulting in the delaminating/peeling paint you can see in the following pictures. Sun, heat and outdoor elements are the main causes of such paint failure, once the peeling starts it is virtually impossible to stop. A common way to prevent this from happening to your vehicle is to regulary wash and wax the exterior with a good quality paste wax, think of it as sunscreen for your car. Any paint job will fail over time, but proper care and prevention will preserve your finish much longer! We restored the finish on this particular car with our Enamel + UV protective paint.
