2004 Nissan Sentra Repainted!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a peeling 2004 Nissan Sentra.  This Nissan spends most of its time outside. The sun doesn't have mercy on paint. Its harmful UV rays can make even a relatively new car's paint fail in no time! We fixed this unsightly problem by first removing all of the failing paint, then masking off all of the unpainted areas of the car. Next we applied a primer-sealer and finally its new coat of Enamel + UV Protectant paint!

24 Hours of Le Mans!

It's that time of year again, the oldest and greatest auto race in the world celebrates its 90th anniversary this weekend in Le Mans, France (June 23-24, 2013.) The race is fast and torturous. It is where the world's premier auto makers--Aston Martin, Audi, Chevrolet (Corvette), Chrysler (SRT Viper), Ferrari, Honda, Lotus, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota--come to show not only that they have the fastest, best handling, most advanced cars but in order to win, they must also be reliable and economical.

The race attracts top drivers including celebrity Patrick Dempsey who in past years has been a LeMans class leader. Audi once again captured the pole in 2013. Toyota was third fastest in qualifying with a hybrid prototype.

Audi captures pole at 24 Heures du Mans in 2013
Unlike most races, these vehicles must run all-out for 24 hours straight without breaking down and with as few stops as possible. At 2013 speeds we can expect the leaders to travel more than 3000 miles (5000 km)

NASCAR, Formula 1 and Indycar feature straights that can be a thousand feet long. LeMans features a straightaway that is 4 miles (6 km) long followed by a series of curves, hairpin turns and shorter straights.

Porsche at 2013 24 Heures du Mans

It is our favorite race at Almost Everything because the cars look like real cars and the technology is often a few years away from making the cars we drive everyday safer, more fun and better performing.

1996 Nissan Sentra "Visual Tune-Up"

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1996 Nissan Sentra. This little sedan came to our shop with plenty of peeling paint. Its original paint was coming off in sheets! Our first line of repair was to sand off all of that ugly problematic paint to a smooth, paintable surface. Once that was complete we sealed the car with our basic "Primer Sealer" and repainted the entire exterior with our Enamel paint in the cars original color!

2002 Nissan Sentra Se-R Paint Job!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2002 Nissan Sentra Se-R.  This bright red sport compact came to our shop with plenty of raw bodywork and primer all over its body panels.  This car is getting prepared to sell so a shiny paint job is imperative, nobody wants to spend their hard earned money on a dull dented up car! Since the owner of this car completed all of his own bodywork, he requested that we simply refinish the outside of the vehicle.  We repainted the Sentra with its original "Aztec Red" color and returned it to its owner looking glossy and new again!

World's Most Baffling Vehicle

Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

We've missed Axis of Oversteer. They provided us this photo of the new Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet with the caption "This has to be one of the world's most baffling vehicles." I saw one recently on the road near San Francisco. Sadly, it doesn't look any better in the flesh. But someone did need to fill the void left by those 1990's Suzuki X90s that have at this point mostly expired.

1989 Nissan Hardbody Color Restoration

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1989 Nissan Hardbody pickup. This mini-truck came to Almost Everything with its original paint looking worn and unsightly. In some areas the paint actually had completely worn off leaving a bare metal surface, which was now rusting. We began our process by grinding down and treating the rust in certain customer specified areas, then removing all of the additional minor chips and scratches all around the truck. Next we sealed the entire exterior with a primer, which coats the existing surface and gives the new paint something to "bite" onto. Lastly we refinished the truck with our Enamel + UV Protectant paint in its original color!

1991 Nissan Silvia Refinished

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1991 Nissan Silvia, this car started out as an American market Nissan 240SX Coupe. The car's front end underwent a radical conversion to look like its Japanese market counterpart. Most aftermarket and replacement parts do not come painted to match the car that they are going on. This particular car had not been refinished since its new front end panels were installed and the whole car had been sprayed with a flat black primer making it look terrible! We made this Silvia look much better by first applying our own primer sealer to ensure that the new paint would adhere to the vehicle's surface and to provide a uniform base layer for the drastic color change that was coming. The car was originally black. Opting for a very glossy and clean look, the owner chose to refinish the car with "Championship White" in our Enamel + UV protectant paint!

1972 Datsun 510 Color Restoration

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1972 Datsun 510. This classic car came to us in hideous condition, the paint had been sanded off years ago causing the bare metal to rust very quickly, and there was lots of unfinished body work! We repaired a few major dents and unfinished body work that the customer requested, scuffed up the existing bare metal surfaces, sealed everything with a primer, and painted the whole car with our Enamel paint in its original blue color!
