Chevy Volt Accident

2014 Chevy Volt at body shop after collision repairs

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2014 Chevrolet Volt that got hit by something that damaged the front bumper, hood, fender and headlight. When we disassembled the parts in the damage area we also found damage to the crash energy absorber. We replaced all the damaged parts with factory originals and matched the factory paint.

Hood flew open on 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid prior.

This is the type thing that can ruin your day. Thankfully no one was injured. Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid. A mounting bracket for the hood broke and the hood few open and collapsed on the windshield. We replaced the hood, the mounting bracket, hood latch and hinges. 2000 Honda Insight Repaint

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2000 Honda Insight Hybrid.  Before the well known Prius became so popular there lived another hybrid boasting a smaller motor, weirder looks, and even less performance than the newer Prius! With those qualities under its belt, it was most definately an uber hybrid capable of high double digit Miles Per Gallon. We brought the shine back to this Honda Hybrid with our Enamel Single Stage paint after sanding the car and sealing its surfaces with a primer!

Video of 2013 Ferrari "LaFerrari"

Beautiful car. Dumb name. Ferrari has unveiled the successor to the GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo and is calling it "LaFerrari." Which as far as we can tell is universally derided. Still, we wouldn't turn one down if offered to us. . . or if we had the $1.3M needed to buy one.

It's a hybrid and the most outrageous Ferrari to date:

  • 0-60 in less than 3 seconds
  • 220 mph top speed
  • 0963 HP
  • 665 lb-ft (900+ Nm) torque.

BMW i8 Hybrid Prototype Spyshots

Videos of disguised BMW Vision Hybrid Prototype actually running in snow. The Vision ED (Efficient Dynamics) concept, premiered at the Frankfurt Auto Show and has been seen at a number of venues and mainstream press for over a year. These spy shots seem to confirm that it is something more than a concept. BMW recently announced plans for a new sub-brand to be called BMW i-Brand. I-Brand vehicles will be electric and plug-in hybrids. The Vision prototype is said to be the first actual product and flagship for the new brand. Autoblog and Automobile Magazine and BMWBlog.com all say it is the BMW i8. BMW i vehicles are scheduled to be on sale in 2013.

2012 Fisker Karma First Drive

The Fisker Karma is a plug-in electric, sexy as all get out, high performance, 4 door exotic hybrid that may actually be capable of 100 mpg AND 0-60 mph (approx. 0-100 kph) in under 6 seconds. Initial test drives report that it handles brilliantly--better than any other car this size (a bit hard to believe but we at Almost Everything Autobody are intrigued enough to think that this might be an alternative to our Maserati Quattroporte fetish.)

For more pictures and a full article on the initial test drives, visit AutoBlog.
