Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1990 GMC Pick-Up Truck. This old hauler came to our shop looking pretty beat. Its original paint had been fading and peeling over the last couple of years and its owner decided to sand all of the unsighty failing paint down. After a car is sanded, it will need paint especially if there are bare metal spots. We prepped the truck with our "Basics" package, Cleaning the body with a chemical to remove any road contaminants clinging to the paint, a "Scuff" with an abrasive hand pad, and masking all of the windows, lights and trim pieces. After the prep was completed, we refinished the Chevy with a "Single Stage" paint!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1993 Subaru Impreza Wagon. This sporty gas saver came to our shop wearing nothing but primer. A friend of the owners primed the vehicle but did not finish it with new paint, leaving the surfaces vulnerable to rust beneath the primer! We began by repairing a few areas that were damaged by a collision, and unfinished by the previous body repair person. Once the bodywork was complete we sanded out all of the remaining chips and scratches and sealed the fresh surface with our own primer sealer! The car was originally green, instead of continuing its life with a run of the mill color, the owner decided to repaint it like one of Subaru's wickedly fast race cars. The color is called World Rally Blue, and the paint material is Almost-Everything's Enamel!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1996 Ford Mustang Convertible. This pony came to our shop white, partially prepped, and overall just tired looking. The owner decided white wasnt his color anymore and decided to paint the exterior jet black! We completed all of the basic prep work, first cleaning the car to remove oils, road tar, bugs, etc. Once everything was clean we scuffed what was left of the old paint with an abrasive pad to promote adhesion of the new paint, and masked off all of the unpainted things such as lights and trim. We refinished this Ford with our basic Enamel paint, which goes to show how even a basic paint material can make an old car look great (and 100x more menacing in the case of this Mustang)!
Almost Everything's Car of the Day is an extremely discolored 1992 Dodge B350 Van. This massive transporter came to our shop with its original paint showing its age. The van was originally light blue, over the years the beautiful glossy blue became a strange, flat, dirty looking color. We began the color restoration of this van by first sanding out all of the existing chips and scratches, then sealing the freshly sanded exterior with a primer sealer. The original color was then sprayed on in our Enamel paint grade!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a peeling 2004 Nissan Sentra. This Nissan spends most of its time outside. The sun doesn't have mercy on paint. Its harmful UV rays can make even a relatively new car's paint fail in no time! We fixed this unsightly problem by first removing all of the failing paint, then masking off all of the unpainted areas of the car. Next we applied a primer-sealer and finally its new coat of Enamel + UV Protectant paint!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 2004 Ford Mustang GT. This mellow-colored mustang came to our shop needing some serious help in the looks department. The original paint had faded to a dull, lifeless orange over the years as well as the headlights and other trim pieces. We refinished this pony with our Base Coat + Clear Coat paint for an exceptionally glossy finish that will last for years to come! Since orange is such a bright color, and there is such thing as "Too Much Orange" the owner wanted to add an old-school muscle car inspired "Break" in colors, he asked us to repaint the hood scoop and spoiler flat black like the original Mach 1 Mustangs had!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 2006 Acura TL. This car is inspired by the "VIP" styled cars of Japan; low, luxurious, and typically jet black. This particular black paint from Honda has a heavy blue metallic flake, making the car appear black at night or in the shade, but transforms to a deep blue in the sunlight! The TL was refinished using our "Two Stage Base Coat / Clear Coat" paint and the color is named "Nighthawk Black"
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1995 Chevy Tahoe. This mini SUV started out with no shortage of terrible old paint. Its original clear coat had failed over years of being beaten by the sun's harmful rays causing the top layer to look white, also the base layer of primer had failed causing lots of crack or "check" marks in the top surface! These paint defects would cause the new paint to look terrible if we simply painted over them, so we stripped the hood, roof, and both fenders down to the bare metal, ridding them of all of the checking primer. The rest of the truck we sanded what was left of the old peeling clear coat down to a smooth paintable surface. After masking, the truck was sealed with a primer and finally painted in its original color with our Urethane + Integrated Clear Coat paint!
