This customer came in wanting an overall paint job and a color change. The original color was unidentified but ultimately it was decided by the customer to change the color to "Gloss Grey" made by Sherwin Williams. He decided on using Enamel paint with a basic sealer and added our chip and scratch option to smooth out imperfections in the paint. The color change helped make this older car look like new again!

2003 Dodge Intrepid Overall Paint job
This customer wanted to revive this Delaminating (peeling) paint job and make this beauty look like new again. The customer decided they wanted us to do the extra prepping methods to correct this paint imperfection which paid off in the long run! Just look at her shine! We use Urethane Single-Stage paint titled "Brilliant Black"
BEFORE:
These two pictures are good examples of delaminating paint and microcheck on the same body panel. This is caused by the heating and cooling of the cars surface. This tends to happen more on darker colored cars! When the surface is exposed to the sun all day the paint expands. At night when the surface cools down it will return to the original condition. This causes the paint to have tiny "check marks" only being able to notice when inspecting paint close enough!

What's with "Almost" Everything?!!
Every week we get asked what the "Almost" means in Almost Everything Auto Body. This car is a good example." It was a beautiful and well loved by its owners. Sadly, it was too badly damaged to fix. Some of the things we showed the customer were the doors pushed back and down over the rear panels. The frame was crushed like an accordion AND sagging in the middle. Repairs would cost more than the car was worth and probably not get the car back to original condition. The owner plans to put the engine, wheels and any other valuable components, into a donor chassis then bring it back to us to match the original paint job.

Yes, we can paint just parts
Almost Everything's Car of the Day is. . . a bumper, no car, just the bumper. A customer asked us to paint a junk yard part so he could install it himself. We were happy to oblige. He also supplied the color code. We caution customers that color codes do not insure exact color matches. Different factories, different paint suppliers, different batches, humidity, temperature, paint application technique, settling of paint ingredients can all contribute to startling differences in a single paint color from the manufacturer. So it is always best to have the car present during painting so we can compare the computer generated formula with the actual color on the car. Even then, it is impossible to match things like fading that can vary from the top to the bottom of the car.

1925 Doble E-20 Steam Car from Jay Leno's Garage
Jay Leno has done an incredible job restoring a strange and wonderful car that has special meaning at Almost Everything Auto Body. Our founder, Frank Barnard, passed by publicity photos of Doble automobiles every day in the lobby of the old factory that was home and office for a bunch of friends during college. And it was in the Doble factory that Frank and his friend Tod first started a business called Almost Everything. . . and Nothing Else. The 1990 business license is in Frank's office today with the Doble factory address.

"Almost" Everything - We'll Tell You It's Time to Give Up
Many people ask us what the "Almost" means in our name. This truck is a good example. Although we could fix it, we told the owner that he was better off buying another vehicle. In addition to the obvious damage, the frame was twisted and the suspension had problems. If someone were to fix it, we'd be afraid to ride in it. It was definitely a total loss. You could probably buy a nice used F-150 for less than half of what it would cost to fix this one.

Totalled Ford GT
Totaled Ford GT, photos provided by Jalopnik |
We were fortunate to have had a Ford GT at the shop a couple of years ago. The owner let the entire crew sit in it (which was a very big deal because we are a dirty bunch after sanding cars all day!)
