1997 Mazda Miata Auto Painting

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1997 Mazda Miata that came to us with faded paint and some half-finished body repairs. The customer asked us to finish the bodywork, repaint it with our least expensive enamel and keep to a modest budget. We think it turned out nice.

Making a Scraped-Up Camry Look Decent for Not Much Cash

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1997 Camry with lots of dents and scrapes. The customer said his car was a neighborhood embarrassment. All he wanted was to stop getting grief. He needed his car to look better from a short distance. He told us not to fix any dents or scrapes. All we did was paint the car with our most budget-friendly enamel paint. If you look closely, you can still see dents & scrapes under the new paint. But from a few feet away the transformation is great. The eyesore became a decent looking car.

Audi A7 with Dented Hood

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is the awesome Audi A7. This one came to us with a small but deep dent in the hood. We repaired the dent and refinished the hood with the original factory paint.

Key Scratches on Chevy Tahoe

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that had been vandalized. Every panel except the roof had deep key scratches. Otherwise the vehicle was in great shape. Unfortunately, the customer did not have insurance coverage for this type of damage. He chose our Major Chip & Scratch Repair, a new coat of primer sealer to cover the bare metal from the scratches, and painted the whole vehicle with a budget-friendly single-stage paint.

Almost Everything's Painter Saves Priest

Almost Everything's Painter, Jose de la Torre
Almost Everything Auto Body's painter, Jose de la Torre

Today's article has nothing to do with cars and everything to do with the quality of our people. Jose de la Torre has worked at Almost Everything for years as a painter and body technician. He moonlights as a superhero.

Last week de la Torre saw a man, Juan Perez, knock 89-year-old priest John Coleman to the ground. Perez is suspected of being high on methamphetamine. Perez beat the priest with the priest's own cane until the cane broke. Our painter, de la Torre, ran from his car to help. As reported in the July 17, 2015 San Jose Mercury News, the priest said de la Torre, "tackled the guy so quickly. . . like a football player. He was really outstandingly selfless." Two other men pinned Perez until police arrived. Coleman, de la Torre and the 2 other rescuers sustained cuts and bruises and were treated by paramedics. Perez is charged with four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of elder abuse.

De la Torre never mentioned any of this to us. We learned of it by reading the newspaper. That's pretty typical of de la Torre. He is as honest, hard working and humble a man as you could know and we are proud and honored to work with him.

We made de la Torre show us his injuries from his fight with the murderous meth fiend
De la Torre shows his injury from fighting off the meth addict and saving a priest.
