1974 Plymouth Duster with Auto Bodywork and Complete color change

Today's Car of the Day is a 1974 Plymouth Duster that came in with dings on the hood, and chips and scratches around the entire car. Almost Everything Autobody repaired the dings and sanded the chips and scratches on the car, and apply primer-sealer. The owner did not like the color on the car and wanted a darker color. He had us paint it a gun metal pearl in single stage paint service. Almost Everything Autobody also sanded the door jambs and under the hood and under the trunk jambs for a complete color change.

Motorcycle from Helicam

DK Productions has a great follow-up to the car drifting video we posted a couple of months ago. This time we're on a Suzuki GSRX750 motorcycle. Once again we are treated to great driving skills, surprising & artistic camera work set on what appears to be another distant planet. It could be computer generated--it looks like a video game--but it's real! Check out DK's other work including Next Top Model, skateboard and motorcycle racing competitions, car drifting and more. We think this is the company to go to for dramatic video--and a good excuse for a trip to Athens. Thanks Dimitris!

Lamborghini Estoque Wagon Concept

Lamborghini Estoque Wagon concept by DieselStation
Someone who goes by the tag "Diesel Station" (see http://www.dieselstation.com/) has photoshopped the Lamborghini Estoque concept to create a wagon. We like! This would be the real successor to the 1968-1978 Lamborghini Espada that I have lusted after for 40 years. Lamborghini, build it!

Quirky, beautiful & brilliant Lamborghini Espada
Lamborghini Espada made from 1968 to 1978

Bumper Repairs on Chrysler Concorde

Today's Car of the Day is a nice, two-tone 1994 Chrysler Concorde that looked good except for the peeling paint on the bumpers and body side mouldings. These darker parts of the car were literally disintegrating due to the sun's punishing rays. In the "Before" photos below, you can see the yellow colored plastic exposed under the original paint. Almost Everything repainted all of these plastic parts and the car looks like new again.

Autocar's Ultimate Road Trip: Portugal to England in McLaren's MP4-12C

2011 McLaren MP4-12c, Photo by KevinRachel2010
Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe drives the MP4-12C from the bottom of Portugal back to England (over 2000 km or 1250 miles.) Given the choice between a Ferrari 458 and the MP4-12c, Sutcliffe will take the McLaren and proclaims it the best car he has ever driven. We just wish it was as drop dead gorgeous as the F1.

Boat Trailer? Sure, What Else You Got?

Today's Car of the Day isn't a car at all. The boat trailer was chipped-up, rust was taking root and purple just didn't seem as cool as it once did. So the owner had Almost Everything repaint it black.

1998 McLaren F1 vs 2011 McLaren MP4-12C

1996 McLaren F1 in the Ralph Lauren Collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts

How does McLaren's encore stack up? Autocar gets its hands on an original McLaren F1 and road tests it along side the new McLaren MP4-12C (we think the new car's name needs a few more letters, numbers and a decimal point or three.) The F1 wasn't designed as a race car. It had room for passengers and several luggage compartments. It was a very good sports car. So good that it beat purpose-built race cars in 1995 to win the 24 Hours of LeMans. 20 years after its debut, it still gives the best of Ferrari, Bugatti, Pagani, SSC, SaleenKoenigsegg, Lamborghini and Porsche a run for their money, beating most of them.

The new car looks similar but a bit more generic. It's heavier and has similar horsepower to the old car. It's lost a passenger seat (it still has 2. . . the old car was a 3 seater!) Like the old car, the new car is easy to drive and comfortable--unusual characteristics in the supercar class.

Our Love Affair with the New Jaguar XJ Continues

Thanks to the fine folks at GTSpirit.com for the most handsome video yet of the new Jaguar XJ. We continue to be smitten by this car and news that it drives better than everything from Mercedes, BMW, Audi and even Aston Martin & Porsche.
