Peeling Paint on Mitsubishi Eclipse

Today's Car of the Day is a no-nonsense 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse street racer with some seriously delaminating paint. The sun killed the clear coat and it is flaking off in large patches. Almost Everything sanded all the failed paint off then put a new coat of 2-part primer/sealer on the car before repainting it. Now it's time for this Mitsu to get back to business.

Almost Everything Voted Best Bodyshop in San Francisco Bay

The team at Almost Everything Autobody got some great news tonight. For the past 2 months residents of San Francisco Bay have been casting votes at CityVoter.com for their favorite shops, restaurants & attractions. Over 90,000 votes were cast.

In 2010 Almost Everything Autobody was honored to have been nominated as Best Bodyshop. We placed 19th out of 76 nominees and approximately 3000 bodyshops in the region.

In 2011 there were 117 nominees for Best Bodyshop. Almost Everything Autobody came in 1st.

Thanks to our many wonderful customers and friends who voted for us. We'll do our best to live up to your expectations of great service, quick turn-around at a very reasonable price.

Brazilian Nissan Ad--Featuring the New Ford Fiesta?!

Somehow this ad is supposed to sell Nissan Versas (locally called the Nissan Tiida) to the folks in Brazil. Ford is upset that there are scantily clad models and rappers with champagne dancing around their car. We think Ford should hire Nissan to do all their advertising. Meanwhile, we understand why Nissan would rather show a Ford than their Versa/Tiida.

2011 Hyundai Sonata with Auto bodywork and paint

Today's Car of the Day is brand new 2011 Hyundai Sonata tha came in with Insurance claim to damage on front end. Almost Everything Autobody replaced the front bumper cover, front bumper reinforcement, front grille assembly, left headlamp, hood chrome moulding and inner fender cover. Almost Everything Autobody repaired dents on the left fender, removed the left rocker panel and left fender skirt for paint. Almost Everything Autobody painted the left fender, front bumper cover and front grille with factory paint to match the rest of the car. Finally Almost Everything Autobody color sand and polish the painted areas for a factory finish.

Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory today at Fontana in the Auto Club 400. Kevin passed Jimmie Johnson in the last lap of the race to take the checkered flag.

Dario Franchitti Walks Away from Indy Car Pack at St. Petersburg Gran Prix

Dario Franchitti and the Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team simply walked away from every other Indy Car in today's St. Petersberg (Florida) Gran Prix. He led nearly the entire race and in the last few laps, ahead of 2nd place Will Power by over 10 seconds (an eternity in race time), he was able to back off and coast to victory.

The real race was between 3rd & 4th place finishers Tony Kanaan & Simona de Silvestro (yeah, a woman--cute too.)

Dario won last year's Indy Championship, and in 2009 and 2007. He's off to a great start this year. Did we mention he's married to Ashley Judd?

Fender Bender Season

It's fender bender season in California (bumper scrape season too!) The song says "it never rains in California. . . but when it rains, man it pours." And that is exactly what has been happening for the past 2 months. We're sorry for everyone who needed but didn't have a few extra feet to stop because of the rain. Like everyone else, we're ready for a sunny day or two.

Today's Car of the Day is a 2004 Honda Civic. We fixed the dent in the fender along with scrapes in both bumpers. We matched the factory paint and pinstripes on these panels and backed-up our work with a lifetime warranty against fading, peeling & loss of gloss.

1937 Duchess of Hamilton Locomotive

We think we've found long lost relatives at Go Away Garage only they post stuff that we don't think we could ever get away with (their site is not always safe for work or children.) We have shamelessly swiped their photo of the high-speed steam locomotive Duchess of Hamilton that could cruise at over 100 mph on Britain's pre-WWII rail lines.

Great photo found at the site of Go Away Garage of the USS Macon dirigible at Hangar One in Moffet Field, Mountain View, California, just a few miles from Almost Everything Autobody. The photo is from 1933, about 2 years before the Macon was lost at sea (and 75 years before our shop was opened.) The Macon was just 20 feet shorter than the Hindenburg. She carried several airplanes inside her frame and could launch them in mid-air as a floating aircraft carrier.

2000 Acura Integra with Auto Bodywork and Paint

Today's Car of the Day is a 2000 Acura Integra that came in with collision damage. Almost Everything Autobody repaired dents on the door and replaced the front bumper cover, parking light and door mirror that were damaged in the car accident.
