Nissan GT-R: Drug Induced Nightmare?
The GT-R always seemed a bit gimmicky, overdone, plastic-y, just trying too hard. Of course, I'd never really seen one on the road. But in pictures and even at car shows they never looked like a sports car. The newest, 2011 version looks like some sort of drug induced nightmare—a migrane on wheels.
But when a 2011 Nissan GT-R pulled up along side of me at a stoplight today in San Jose, California, I think I finally started to see the light. It looks different on the road. It's impressive. It's bigger than it looks in the pictures. . . and usually that wouldn't be a good thing on a sports car but the GT-R looks purposeful. It looks mean. It looks like it will pounce on and then eat any other car on the road. I couldn't take my eyes off it.

GM No Longer Needs $14.4B Government Loan
Happy days are here again. Jalopnik is reporting that General Motors has withdrawn its request for $14.4 Billion from the U.S. government.
