Reviving Old 2-Tone Cars

2-Tone vehicle repainted in single color at Almost Everything Auto Body.

In the 1980s and 1990s two-tone cars were all the rage and showed that a vehicle was a premium model. Multiple colors on a car takes more material and labor. So it naturally costs more. But what do you do when one of these 20-30 year old cars needs to be repainted? Options include repainting both colors, repainting only the top color which is often more faded, painting only the bottom color which can be more prone to scrapes, or repainting the entire car in just one color. Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1996 Mazda MPV that was faded & peeling on top and scraped on the bottom. So both of the 2-tone colors had problems. The owner decided to paint the entire vehicle one color to save money and recover a vehicle that still drove well but looked a mess.

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus that was hit on the side. The top of the car was also faded and had started to peel. So the owner decided to paint the whole car at the same time she repaired the dent on the door. She chose our durable, single-stage Urethane paint.

Delaminating Paint & Microchecking Paint on Honda Accord

Delaminating or peeling clear coat on Honda Accord

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a Honda Accord with 2 paint problems. Sun has damaged the clear coat causing it to delaminate and peeling. The trunk and rear panels have different age damage called microchecking where the paint and primer are shrinking causing lots of microscopic cracks. We removed the damaged paint and primer layers, applied new primer-sealer and repainted the whole car.
