Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 1996 Mazda 626. This economical sedan came to our shop with plenty of areas to repair. Its original paint had begun to fail years ago, leaving an unattractive flaky, "oxidized" looking paint surface behind! This is a common issue on cars of this era. We refer to it as delaminating paint, a condition where the car's clear coat peels off of the color beneath. We began by removing all of the problematic peeling areas by sanding them smooth. Next up was a coat of primer sealer which provides an even colored surface for the new paint to adhere to. Finally we repainted the entire exterior of the Mazda with our "Enamel + UV protectant" paint in the car's original black!
