1986 BMW 325i NEEDS PAINT!

Almost Everything Autobody's Car of the Day is a 1986 BMW 325i that came to us in desperate need of paint. These are great, light, agile cars with strong engines and no-nonsense interiors that still look great after 20 years. After paint, this one looked showroom new again and still drove great.

2000 CHEVY S10 WITH FAILING PAINT

Almost Everything Autobody's Car of the Day is a 2000 Chevy S10 with microchecking paint. Microchecking can also be called lacquer checking, lacquer cracking, crazing or surface checking. It happens when materials below the paint cause problems resulting in lots of tiny cracks that look like check marks. The cracks can let water get under the paint to cause rust. On this vehicle, we repaired the old failing paint, applied a new coat of primer then put on a fresh coat of gloss black. We finished the project with flame graphics.

Close-Up of Microchecking Paint:

Massive Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes & . . . Prius Pile-Up

In the space of one or two seconds, 14 cars including 8 Ferraris, a Lamborghini, 3 Mercedes Benzs & a couple of Toyotas were damaged in what is believed to be the most expensive car crash in history. The exotics were traveling in a convoy to a meeting in Hiroshima, Japan. Speeds were estimated at 85-100 mph. The lead Ferrari lost control and the group piled onto each other and "bystander" cars nearby. Damage is estimated at $3.85M.
