6 Months Ago: Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is what started out as a 1988 BMW 325i. This car belongs to one of our employees and has been a headache...err...project of his for the past 4 years! The car began as a faded red/pinkish automatic old lady cruiser. Over time it was slowly "frankensteined", becoming an evil little death trap. The motor and drive train are up to decent satisfactory-ish levels (not really.) However a recent rear end collision damaged the bumper, and the body was ready for a new paint job. He decided on refinishing his BMW with a Chevrolet Corvette color called "Torch Red" in our basic Enamel Single Stage paint grade!
Almost Everything'sCar of the Day is a 2003 Honda Civic LX. This car came to our shop as most Hondas do; Faded, Peeling, Chipping and Ugly. This was a very basic paint job, all repairs of dents and surface imperfections were declined, leaving us to complete only our "basic" prep. We cleaned the car with a chemical to remove all stuck-on contaminants, scuffed the exterior with an abrasive hand pad, and masked off all of the windows, lights, and other trim pieces. Finally the car was ready for paint, we applied a primer sealer and layed on the fresh coat of "Honda Nighthawk Black Pearl" Enamel paint!
