Boat Trailer? Sure, What Else You Got?

Today's Car of the Day isn't a car at all. The boat trailer was chipped-up, rust was taking root and purple just didn't seem as cool as it once did. So the owner had Almost Everything repaint it black.

Surviving a Sinking Car

Richard Hammond may be a real life Kenny in the U.K. We like Richard and hope he continues to survive these attempts on his life. . . by his friends.

On a more serious note, a tragedy happened to a young boy in this part of California a few weeks back. I'm a long-time scuba diver and I've always assumed that drivers who die underwater in their cars were drunk, asleep or otherwise incapacitated before hitting the water. After seeing these videos, I understand what should have been obvious to me from scuba. Watch Top Gear's Richard and learn something that could one day save your life--Frank

Ford & Ferrari at it Yet Again!

From our buddies at Axis of Oversteer we find an amusing and, apparently, true legal tidbit. Ford sued Ferrari this week over Ferrari's announcement that their new Formula 1 racer would be designated F150 (for Ferrari-150th Anniversary of the unification of Italy.) Ford contends that it would dilute the brand of their iconic and best-selling pick-up truck, the F-150. Ferrari quickly agreed to change the name, saying that they had not intended anyone to think that their race car was related to a Ford truck. The proposed new name is the F150th Italia. We say, "Ford, drop the suit and settle this like gentlemen. . . just like you did in 1963." The remake of the Ford GT40 just whet our appetites for a new Ferrari-Ford duel. You have Almost Everything Autobody's blessing to do it in either F1 or LeMans-style racing.

Photos from Houston's Famous (Infamous?) Art Car Parade

Okay now here's a car show not to be missed.
Since 1988 Houston's Orange Show Center has hosted the annual Houston Art Car Weekend that includes a Ball, Parade & unofficial side-of-the-road events and attractions.

This set of photos is the best we've seen. Check out NashNut.com for even more of the Houston event plus great photos of hundreds of other antique and classic cars.

2011 Art Car Weekend runs Friday, May 20 - Sunday, May 22

Disclaimer: Almost Everything Autobody did not work on any of the cars seen in these pictures. Your car will NOT look like this when we finish with it. . . unless you want it to.

New Driver Catches Air--Lands on Neighbor's Ferrari. . . In the Garage

Thanks again to our buddies at WreckedExotics.com for this little nugget. The car on the bottom was a 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena. The truck appears to be a Ford F150 Stepside. We'd hate to see this kid's insurance bill. The good news is the garage door & the Ferrari seem to have provided a soft landing. The story goes that a young man got the truck up to a good speed as he was coming over a hill. The truck flew off the hill and into this garage.

Feel free to send us your car wreck cringe inducing stories & please vote for us for Best Autobody in the San Francisco Bay Area.

2001 Mercedes Benz E320 with key scratches

Today's Car of the Day is a nice 2001 Mercedes Benz E320 that came in with key scratches, scrapes and dents. Almost Everything Autobody recondition all the key scratches, repaired the scrapes on the front bumper cover and repaired the dents on the decklid. Almost Everything Autobody prepped and painted the entire car with the Presidential paint service. The customer liked the results so much that decided to paint their second car, a 1998 Bmw 528i that we are working on right now.

M600 Supercar Ready for Primetime

Noble M600
Noble Automotive has released production photos of its latest & greatest M600 Supercar. According to the lads at Top Gear,  the M600 is made in Britain, has a Yamaha V8 sourced from, of all places, Volvo and goes like stink. Noble does its magic to make a powerplant capable of 650 bhp, 604 lb ft of torque and 225 mph (360 kph.) Autocar tested it to 120 mph in 8.9 seconds. All of this AND it looks better and costs less than a Bugatti Veyron (and just to be fair, we should note that the Bugatti has a Volkswagen engine.)
