Happy Labor Day! To celebrate, our good friend, Mark Crutcher, gave us some recent photos of his 1957 Pontiac Chieftain 2-door hardtop. This is the same car featured in
High Performance Pontiac. Mark claims it is the fastest 1957 Pontiac in the world with stock suspension designed in 1940 and a genuine Pontiac engine. To back-up the claim, he points to his 1/4 mile times at Speedworld Dragstrip in Whittmann, Arizona: 11.51 seconds at 114.39 mph--about the same as a
McLaren F1, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ford GT, Nissan GT-R, or Porsche 911 Turbo. We won't argue.

What's IN that thing?!! A 455 cubic inch Pontiac engine, bored to 470. |
Thanks, Mark!
