Bob Marley's Bimmer

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1973 BMW Bavaria. Rumor has it that this very car was driven by Mr. Bob Marley years ago, supposedly he didn't care that this was the most luxurious BMW of its day, he bought it because he thought the BMW name stood for "Bob Marley and the Wailers." Years have since gone by and his car came to our shop with a new owner, and lots of bad paint and old rust holes. We repaired and smoothed all of the imperfections that the car's owner wanted gone, sanded down all of the old chipping paint, sealed the car with a primer and finally we repainted the Bavaria in its original blue color! We are not 100% certain that this was actually Bob Marley's BMW, but we like to believe that the rumor is true!

Note: the current owner claims that he purchased the car at Marley's old recording studio in San Francisco and local residents told him that it was the car that Marley used while in San Francisco.

Video of Crash at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières

Video below shows Lloyd Read in the Almost Everthing/JDC Motorsport Pro Formula Mazda advancing a couple positions right at the start of the race at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) in Quebec, Canada. Then another driver causes a multi-car pile up. Our car gets damaged and Read is injured but manages to get back to the pits. JDC Motorsports miraculously replaces both front and rear suspensions in just 15 minutes and we're back racing. Be sure to watch the end of the video for the crash view from the rear mounted camera. It shows all the other cars piling up behind us!

Read went on to finish the race with a broken thumb. The time for repairs, while amazingly quick, ensure that Read and Almost Everything will not be on the podium this race. But Read gains valuable championship points by managing to finish in spite of the crash and injury.

Read was the Champion of the 2011 Goodyear Formula Car Challenge Series for Almost Everything. In 2012 he once again led the championship until crashes (caused by other drivers) put him out of contention. In 2013 Read pilots the #16 Almost Everything-JDC Motorsports formula car in the "Road to Indy" Star Mazda Championship.

The Star Mazda Championship is part of the "Road to Indy" that trains drivers and showcases talent to F1 and Indianapolis 500 teams. Read joins a very elite alumni that includes NASCAR and Formula One star Scott Speed, Indy drivers Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal and NASCAR/Champ Car/GTP driver Michael McDowell.

Collision Repairs Done the Right Way!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. This truck came to our shop after an unfortunate encounter with a Nissan. Luckily insurance covered all of the needed repairs! With collisions there are usually many damaged areas unseen at first glance. This "fender bender" damaged a couple of vital areas of this truck's appearance such as the radiator support and a couple of frame mounting points. We worked with the insurance company to either repair or replace these damaged areas and we painted the replacement panels to match the factory color. Once everything had been completed we detailed the pickup and returned it to its owner looking great once again!
