1994 Nissan Hardbody Overall Paintjob

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1994 Nissan Hardbody Pickup. This workhorse came to our shop with its original paint clinging on for dear life! Most of the truck's clear coat had peeled off or "delaminated" which is common for a vehicle of this age. Also the truck had the "old school" 1990s era vinyl stickers on its sides which aren't too popular nowadays and the owner wanted them gone. We began by removing the vinyl graphics and peeling paint, sanding down all of the old paint to an even, smooth surface. Once sanding was complete we masked off all of the exterior portions that were not to be painted and did a final chemical cleaning to ensure no other contaminants were clinging to the trucks surface prior to paint. Finally the truck was ready for its new Enamel paint, we repainted the entire exterior with its original color; Slate Grey Pearl Metallic.

Electric Car? We Won't Tell!

Who knew venerable Consumer Reports tested cars like this?! We are impressed with their video of the Tesla Model S. We're also impressed that the Model S goes like stink, looks & feels like the finest luxury car, uses half the fuel of a Prius, has 2 huge cargo areas and can drive 200 miles between "fill-ups." Who cares if it's powered by electricity, gas or Spam?! These stats are damned hard to argue with. We'll take one in burgundy please. Oh, what the hell, give us one in midnight blue too!

P.S. MotorTrend named the Tesla Model S the 2013 Car of the Year. Consumer Reports gave it the highest score of any car. . . ever.

2005 Mini Cooper S Paint Job!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 2005 Mini Cooper S.  This hot hatch came to Almost-Everything as a multicolored...thing.  Luckily with auto paint being our specialty, we knew exactly what to do to get this Mini back on the road catching eyes as it is supposed to! The car's owner decided to have us repaint the car in its original black color, which we did after we completed all of our much needed prep work.  Every paint job that Almost-Everything offers comes with all of the "Basic" prep work.  We chemically clean the car to remove foreign contaminants, scuff the surface with an abrasive hand pad to promote adhesion of the new paint, and maskin off of all windows, lights, and trim. Once these steps are completed the entire exterior of the car is painted and finally baked in our massive oven to cure the new finish onto the car!
