Datsun 510 Restoration: BRE Trans Am Series Replica

1971 Datsun 510 BRE Trans Am Replica
Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a fun restoration project for us, especially because the Datsun 510 BRE replica was prepared by Larry Oka for a local car buff. Larry Oka is a local legend. He runs a racing school at Sears Point and says he was involved in racing the BRE Datsuns in the original Trans Am series. Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) campaigned these little monsters to the 1971 and 1972 SCCA Trans Am championships. Our version mimics the #68 car.

The owner of this car allowed us to show it at a show this year and let us drive it to and from the event. It was a hoot. The car is very quick, the engine is roarty and the handling razor sharp.

Stop Ferrari Abuse!

Almost Everything's Wreck of the Day--the latest in our long running series of what NOT to do with a Ferrari. Long envious of Lotus' lock on the supercar/submarine market, a driver in China decided to develop his own, Ferrari-based super-sub. As can be seen in these photos, it is still in need of development.

1997 Ford Mustang Paintjob!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1997 Ford Mustang Convertible. This drop top came to our shop, it looked terrible! Years of harsh sunlight had ruined the original paint that the car came with. To remedy this issue we sanded the entire car to remove all of the peeling, chipping, and faded paint, then sealed the surfaces with a Primer! Once the sealer was applied, we painted the Mustang using its original paint's color code, in our "Single Stage Enamel" paint!
